Winner Cake All - Food Network - Episode 109
Savanna and I competed on a new Food Network show called Winner Cake All. Our episode was based around Guy Fieri's Grocery Games 250th Episode. While we didn't win the $10,000 grand prize, we did make it past the first round which was the "cake topper" challenge. Our second challenge was the cake challenge, and although our cake design failed, we were able to redeem ourselves with every single judge on the panel LOVING our cake flavor profile. Giada was even impressed with our cake flavors! It definitely took the sting away from watching our cake fall apart in front of everyone...how embarrassing! We literally had such a limited amount of time to create our design, there was no coming back from the impending disaster happening right out of the gate, we just had to forge ahead, even though I was ready to just throw the towel in and walk away. Thank goodness Savanna talked me off the ledge and we just powered through it.
I can say, our experience was a very positive one, and meeting the 6 other people from the other teams and working with them for several days, was life changing. We will be forever friends because of it.
Will we ever compete again if we have the opportunity? HECK YES!!! We feel a redemption competition is in order!

Icing Smiles Organization
We are proud to say that we have been affiliated with Icing Smiles for several years now, and have donated dozens of cakes on behalf of this organization to bring smiles to children and their families.
We pledge to do what we can to bake a difference!
Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and other treats to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. We understand that the simple things, like a birthday cake, are luxuries to a family battling illness. Our goal is to create a custom cake for the ill child, or their sibling, that provides a temporary escape from worry and creates a positive memory during a difficult time.
Memories have magical powers. Long after the cake is gone, the memories linger - memories of the kindness of a stranger, of the art of the design, of the sweet smells of a special treat, of the smiles and laughs, of a normal childhood experience so often stolen from these children. These memories are why we say, "It is so much more than a cake."

2016 First Place Sporkies Winner
We paired up with Sprecher Brewery by using their official products in our baked desserts. It was a match made in heaven! We created the Rootbeer Float Cake, which won first place in the Sporkies Food Competition. We also created a Hev Weiss Beer Mug Cake, Rootbeer Float Cookies, Beer Everything Cookies, and Beer Infused Gourmet Brownie. All of these items were sold at the 2016 Wisconsin State Fair.
